How to Deal with People That Are Hard to Deal With

There are some people in our lives that can act as real triggers for us.  These people are negative, whiny, maybe even rude and just plain mean.  The best thing to do is probably to cut these people out of our lives completely.  But sometimes we can’t or don’t want to, especially with people like co-workers or family members that live in our house.  If you have someone in your life that causes you stress and anxiety just know that you still have control over that situation no matter how helpless it may feel.

Our control comes in the form of our perception.  We have the ability to choose the ways we perceive things.  Sometimes just thinking a little differently about a person can help us to feel better.  And that is the ultimate goal, to feel better.  That’s all we really want.  But relying on others to help you feel good will almost certainly always lead to disappointment.

Here are some of the tools I use to help me deal with difficult people:

We All Come From One Source

The thing is, we are all the same.  We all come from one source and there is a piece of us in each of us.  Every person on this planet wants the same things; we all want to feel safe, to feel loved, and to be happy.  We are all so much more alike than we are different.

Remembering this can help you give others more grace.   Maybe they have traumas they are processing  or maybe the things they do or say are not intened the way you are recieving them.  Seeing yourself in the other person like a mirror helps to see them as you would see yourself.

People Will Rise and Fall to Your Vibration

People will always meet you where your personal energy is.  Have you ever noticed that certain people bring out the best in you, or the worst in you?  It happens because everyone is exuding a certain frequency and we all have the tendency to meet people where they are.  Raising your personal vibration is your best chance at drawing the best out of others.  You will even notice that whan you maintain a higher personal vibration consistently, those negative people stop coming around.  You’ll always attract what you are and repel everything else.  Naturally.  You don’t have to tell them to go away, they just will slowly but surely.

One of the best ways to accomplish this is to mediate and journal.  Just 10 minutes spent in silence and 5 minutes journaling daily can change your life entirely.  You’ll find youself less likely to be triggered and help you to maintain a calmness around you that causes others to mellow out in your presence.

Take Responsibility

Its hard to think about taking responobilty for other people’s actions.  And in fact you are not responsible for the things people say, do, or feel.  But if you start to take an approach of taking responsibility for all of the situations in your life, you will start to feel a shift.  You can say to yourself, I don’t know why I attracted this, I did’t want this, but I accept that in some way I did.

Aknowledging this gives you your power back.  It takes you out of victim mode and renews your personal God-given power.  Accepting that you attracted everything gives you the ability to think about how you can make a change.

All people that come into our lives are our teachers.  It is our job to learn and grow from every expience.  Don’t expect others to change for you.  Work on your vibration first, take reponsibilty for all that comes, and give others the grace you would want to be given.

We are all so much more alike than we are different.  We are all from God and perfect in His eyes.  Challenge yourself to see all people as God sees them, then simply step back and notice the positive changes that begin to take place.  Mean people might even appear to be kind after all.

To your growth and expansion,

Agnes <3
