How To Fit Self-Care Into Your Busy Life

When you’re very busy, self-care usually becomes the last priority on your long to-do list. But caring for yourself is the way you acknowledge and show gratitude for all that you are and all that you are able to give to others. When we ignore this very important element, we find ourselves stressed, unhappy, and exhausted.

Take time to take care of yourself a bit today. It’s the most selfless thing you can do.

One of the easiest ways to tend to yourself is to slow down a bit. Move through each task intentionally, thinking about and focusing on only the task at hand. Multitasking creates more stress and is actually less protective. Slow down. Breathe deeply.

Take your vitamins and hydrate.

Sit down and take in a few moments of quiet and reflection, even if it’s in the parking lot of the grocery store. Five to ten minutes a day is all you need.

Catch a glimpse of yourself in the mirror. Complement yourself, and mean it.

Gift your body a bit of movement. It doesn’t have to be a strenuous exercise, just enough to raise your heartbeat and feel the flow of oxygen and blood and LIFE run through you.

Remind yourself that life is supposed to be beautiful and enjoyable. You’re supposed to feel good.

Take notice of the beauty around you and in you. Its all around if you look for it you can’t deny it.

You are alive. You are well. You are safe.

You are exactly where you are meant to be.

Feel how grateful it makes you feel to remember this. When we express our thanks for what we are, we receive more of what is good.

Taking care of yourself is not selfish, it is the most positive and perfect way that you show thanks to God for your life. Self-care is the key component to living well.
